Agreement to Terms

By installing or using Dumb Check In ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

These terms apply to all users of the Service, including workspace administrators and individual team members.

Description of Service

Dumb Check In is a Slack application that facilitates asynchronous standup meetings. The Service:

  • Sends scheduled standup questions to team members via Slack direct messages
  • Collects responses and posts summaries to designated Slack channels
  • Allows configuration of standup schedules, questions, and team membership
  • Provides reminder functionality for pending responses

Account and Access

To use the Service, you must have a valid Slack workspace and authorize the application through Slack's OAuth process. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your Slack workspace
  • All activities that occur under your workspace's use of the Service
  • Ensuring team members understand how the Service collects and shares responses

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Use the Service to collect or store personal information beyond its intended purpose
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
  • Use automated systems to access the Service in a manner that exceeds reasonable use

Subscription and Payments

The Service offers both free and paid plans:

  • Free Plan: Includes up to 3 standups with 20 participants each
  • Paid Plans: Offer additional standups and participants for a monthly fee

For paid subscriptions:

  • Payments are processed securely through Stripe
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
  • You may cancel at any time through the billing portal
  • Refunds are provided at our discretion for unused portions of service

Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

You retain ownership of all content you submit through the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process and display this content as necessary to provide the Service.

Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability of the Service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Scheduled maintenance (we will provide advance notice when possible)
  • Unplanned outages or technical issues
  • Factors beyond our control, including Slack platform issues

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dumb Check In and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data or business interruption
  • Errors or omissions in content
  • Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling it from your Slack workspace. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service for:

  • Violation of these Terms of Service
  • Non-payment of subscription fees
  • Conduct that we determine is harmful to other users or the Service

Upon termination, your data will be handled according to our Privacy Policy.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
